Staarvey Farm in Peel has won planning permission to build a new agricultural barn, nearly four years after its previous one was destroyed by fire, Manx Radio reported on Saturday.
The blaze happened in January 2023. In the years since, the business has had to make do with temporary buildings, which have provided space for its packing room.
The farm was also forced to stop running its preserves business during that period, according to Manx Radio.
In their assessment of the application, planners acknowledged that the site is within an area regarded as being of high landscape and scenic significance.
They concluded, however, that the scheme would not bring a new form into an area that had previously been undeveloped, and the application was approved.
