Bray Hill to shut on Sunday morning for TT footbridge removal

The Douglas road closes from 06:00 to 09:00 on 11 October while the St Ninian's crossing comes down, with 18 October kept in reserve for bad weather.

Bray Hill in Douglas will be closed for three hours on Sunday morning while workers dismantle the footbridge that spans the TT course at the St Ninian’s crossroads.

Manx Radio and 3FM both gave the times as 06:00 to 09:00 on Sunday, 11 October. According to 3FM, the closure was announced by the Department for Enterprise.

The bridge is a temporary structure used during the TT and the Manx Grand Prix, Manx Radio said.

The station said disruption was likely in the following places:

  • the top of Bray Hill
  • the Ballaquayle Road junction
  • the Glencrutchery Road junction
  • the Ballanard Road junction

Neither station gave details of a diversion route.

If poor weather prevents the work going ahead, Sunday 18 October has been set aside as a back-up date, Manx Radio reported.
